Today, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation organized two awareness-raising actions in Calvi and Monaco on the occasion of the Water Bike Challenge.
In Monaco, numerous partners (Beyond Plastic Med, The Animal Fund, STARS'N'BARS, the Société Monégasque d'Assainissement, AMPN, divers from the Monaco Underwater Exploration Club, the Firefighters Corps, the Prince's Carabiniers Company, and the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco) collected waste on land and at sea within the Marine Educative Area.
The students of the 7ème A class of Fontvieille School, accompanied by Mrs. Véronique Caselles, Director, and Vanessa Albert, teacher, participated in this operation, allowing them to discover the MEA site and unfortunately witness the substantial amount of collected waste.
This "immersion in reality" constituted a first step before establishing the "Children's Council for the Sea" and reflecting on preservation actions to be undertaken during the 2020-2021 school year.
