Awareness raising at Collège Charles III

The development of awareness and education tools for students and the general public is among the major objectives of the management plan for Monaco's Marine Protected Areas.
In this context, numerous educational workshops have been prepared since the beginning of the year. An intervention at Charles III College in the 4ème class allowed testing a "brown meagre-dusky groupers" workshop aimed at introducing students to underwater survey protocols.
Transformed, for the duration of a virtual dive, into dusky groupers, brown meagres, or marine biologists, the students were able to experience the difficulty of applying these protocols and collecting reliable data to monitor changes in fish populations.
A moment that was both serious and playful, garnering unanimous approval!
