CNDP La mer en débat, Nice stopover

This afternoon, the AMPN participated in the stopover in Nice of the event "La mer en débat" (The Sea in Debate), organized by the National Commission for Public Debate. The objective was to gather opinions from users on major issues related to the sea, its preservation, and exploitation.
The AMPN actively participated in workshop 1, focused on strengthening biodiversity protection at sea. Following interventions by experts, including state representatives, scientists, and international agreements, concrete proposals were formulated by working groups to achieve marine ecosystem protection goals set for the years 2027, 2030, and beyond.
The day concluded with a lively plenary session during which numerous exchanges took place between participants from workshops 1 and 2. Workshop 2 addressed challenges posed by leisure activities, tourism, and boating in the Mediterranean, and the necessary conditions for its survival in the face of these growing pressures. These discussions highlighted a strong need for communication and public awareness to better understand marine issues.
