Fifth European Scientific Diving Conference

Elisabeth Riera, the doctoral student from the ECOSEAS laboratory (formerly ECOMERS) which focuses her research on 3D reefs, participated in collaboration with the AMPN, Créocean and Geolab, in the 5th European conference on scientific diving organized from April 24 to 27 in the Institute of Oceanology of the University of Sciences of Sopot (Poland).

The conference covered the major areas of scientific diving: the latest advances in scientific tools and techniques, the study of life in different environments, underwater archeology and legal aspects.

Elisabeth Riera presented the results of the assessment of habitat complexity in scuba diving by photogrammetry.

Delegations from 13 countries were present: Monaco, Great Britain, France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, USA and Peru.

This participation made it possible to consider future collaborations in the context of research carried out on biofilm, the structure of habitats and artificial reefs.
