Conference April 20, 2018 : Owls, between Myths and Realities

Events

Friday April 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. CONFERENCE

Owls & Owls between “Myths and Reality”

Slideshow (all public)

Sometimes a source of fascination, nocturnal birds of prey have also been tracked and chased in the past.

Now fully protected in France since 1976, these predators are real indicators of the state of biodiversity in the environments studied.

Thanks to a steady increase in investigations and observation pressure, their populations and ranges are now better understood.

Active during the day for some, exclusively nocturnal for others, they are nonetheless formidable hunters with remarkable adaptations.

We therefore offer you during this conference to discover the Owls in order to dispel fears and better love them... to protect them!

Field naturalist and passionate about ornithology, Frédéric SCOFFIER is a member of several associations (AMPN, CEN PACA, FCPN, LPO PACA).

He has participated in numerous inventories andmonitorings for different structures and leads several workshops, including the “Nuits de la Chouette”.
