One of the key challenges of the Marine Protected Areas management plan, approved in October 2021, is to develop the "education and awareness" component targeting both students and the general public.
Achieving this goal requires having educational materials tailored to school curricula, and many of them have been developed well in advance of the implementation schedule for the management plan. This has allowed testing of certain presentations at Charles III College as part of Interdisciplinary Practical Teaching (IPT).
On Thursday, January 6, the first intervention focused on the themes of Monaco's Marine Protected Areas and nurseries.
On Thursday, January 13, the topics of artificial reefs and coralligenous habitats were addressed.
The upcoming intervention will center around Posidonia seagrass beds and the professions of divers and marine biologists.
