MPA presentation at École Saint-Charles in CM2 class : Intervention n°2

Events

Today, a workshop took place at Larvotto beach with students from Ms. Bancel's 7ème B class from Ecole Saint-Charles.

This intervention follows that of March 6 during which the students were made aware of the objectives of the Larvotto Marine Protected Area (MPA).

Thus, they were able to discover this MPA on site and better understand the environmental, economic and social issues directly on the ground.

To begin with, a walk along the beach showed the students the different users of the MPA (bathers, diving clubs, hotels, traders, restaurateurs, etc.) and the risks involved (waste, cigarette butts, navigation, etc.).

Then the students slipped into the shoes of the manager in order to try to resolve three cases concerning navigation, fishing and scientific monitoring within the MPA.

The students were serious and attentive and were able to take advantage of the beautiful day to acquire new knowledge!
