Report of Bermuda chub

Events

Sea users, divers, fishermen, your observations count for science!

Whenever you see (or fish) a totally unusual species, please report it to us, specifying the day, time, site, type of habitat, depth, water temperature, etc. If you had the opportunity to take a photograph, pass that on too. For fishermen, in addition to prior information, do not reject the catch. If possible, store it in a freezer until it is collected.

Fact sheets concerning the main non-native fish species are present on this page.

You can contact the AMPN, the Fédération Monégasque de Pêche Sportive or the Direction de l’Environnement for observations made in Monaco.

The establishment of this vigilance network made it possible, in June 2021, to identify a rare species in the Mediterranean, the Bermuda chub (Kyphosus sectatrix) and to contribute to advancing research.

Congratulations to the Thalassa Marine research & Environmental awareness team for this publication!
