Training of divers from the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco and the Corps des Carabiniers du Prince

Events

This morning, the AMPN organized a training session for the benefit of divers from the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco and du Corps des Carabiniers du Prince.

The objective of this training session was to raise awareness among divers about the data they could collect during their training dives in the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) of Monaco.

Participants received special awareness regarding the identification of rare or threatened species such as pen shells, groupers, seahorses, as well as exotic or invasive species such as caulerpa, lionfish, and rabbitfish, among others.

Information was also provided regarding actions to be taken in case of encounters with sick or injured animals, damaged artificial reefs, or the discovery of macro-waste in the waters of the MPAs.

Additionally, practical supports such as summary sheets and pre-filled tables were distributed to participants to facilitate the collection and transmission of data.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco and the Corps des Carabiniers du Prince for their enthusiasm and commitment to the preservation of marine biodiversity.
