Marine Educative Area "Generation 2"

For the 2019-2020 school year, the pupils of the 7^ème A of the Ecole des Révoires are in charge of the marine educative area of Monaco with the support of their teacher, Mrs Béatrice Momeux-Salati.

Since October, the students have gradually taken ownership of the site which they “manage”. They discovered the environment with the different ecosystems and drew up an inventory of the different human activities. This knowledge was supplemented by the ecological diagnosis carried out by the Thalassa Marine research & Environmental awareness team.

Their attention is increasingly focused on the problem of pollution, given the many wastes left on the land side despite the daily cleaning carried out by the roadmenders of the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement. They therefore reflected on the means to be put in place to limit them by visiting the site with Mr. Gilles Cellario and Mrs. Laurence Marty of the Department of Urban Development (DAU) as well as Mrs. Marie Berard and Céline Varenio of the Société Monégasque d'Assainissement (SMA) accompanied by Joseph and Jorge, two of the roadmenders of the SMA in charge of cleaning.

At the same time, various awareness-raising actions are carried out in class or on the AME with Dr. Heike Molenaar, scientific advisor, or other institutions in the Principality such as the Department of the Environment.

A major objective: Better know to better protect!!!
