Marine Educative Area “Generation 2" : Eco-School project

Marine Educative Area

The students of the 7ème A of the Ecole des Révoires, in charge this year of the marine educative area, visited today the Cannes sorting center, which collects recyclable waste from the Alpes-Maritimes and of Monaco.

The representatives of the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement previously recalled the role of the SMA and the instructions to be followed for effective selective sorting.

The different sorting steps were then presented in the form of a slideshow:

- Feeding the waste chain
- Separation by size
- Separation by shape
- Separation by subject
- Metal separation
- Manual sorting
- Baling and storage before sending for recycling

The students then went inside the center to discover “live” the sorting chain. A journey into the world of overconsumption of packaging that encourages reflection on the best practices to adopt in order to limit it.

This visit should be compared with the reflections carried out this year by the students of "Generation 2" to raise awareness of the problem of pollution.
