Marine Educative Area "Generation 2" : Raising awareness of marine biodiversity

The pupils of the 7^ème A class of the Ecole des Révoires made an algae herbarium with the help of Doctor Heike Molenaar, scientific referent of the AME, who previously collected some red, green and brown algae while scuba diving . They chose the ones they wanted to use, identified them using the tablets made available to them, mentioned the name of the algae and the groups to which they belong. Once the herbarium are formed, they will have to ensure that they dry properly and they will keep an additional memory of their year spent taking care of the AME.

The film “Mediterranean”, directed by Jérôme Espla and awarded many times, was then screened in the class. This documentary with exceptional images allowed students to better understand the incredible richness of the Mediterranean. The silence of the students during the screening speaks volumes about the interest they took in this "ode to life and the sea".
