Marine Educative Area "Generation 4": Biodiversity presentation

Marine Educative Area

Today, the 7ème A students of Fontvieille School had the opportunity to discover or rediscover the animal and plant species found in the Principality of Monaco.

With the help of an interactive presentation, Mr. Vincent Gaglio from the Direction de l’Environnement succinctly explained the natural heritage of the Principality, with a focus on the species along the cliffs of AME: rock samphire, gecko, cormorant, peregrine falcon, etc. This information will be useful for the students on their upcoming field trip with the Direction de l’Environnement.

The session concluded with discussions on possible means to monitor and protect marine and terrestrial biodiversity. Each student received the book "Principality of Monaco, Biodiversity under High Surveillance," produced under the auspices of the Direction de l’Environnement with photographer Jean-Charles Vinaj. This beautiful book highlights the richness of Monaco's biodiversity!

A big THANK YOU to the Direction de l’Environnement for being available every year for the AME students!
