Marine Educative Area "Generation 4": Introducing MEA species

Today, the students of 7^ème A at Fontvieille School absorbed essential ecological definitions for their Marine Educative Area (MEA) management work: ecosystem, habitat, species, etc.

This was followed by a presentation on the biology and habitat of certain species present in the MEA. Using a map representing the MEA habitats, the children had to place around thirty species in 5 habitats (sand, rocks, sandy with scattered rocks, coralligenous, and open water).

The PowerPoint presentation, index cards, our explanations, and especially their logic allowed them to correctly place almost all the species!

The session concluded with the awarding of prizes for the "Create a fridge-bottom menu" contest, during which two board games, "Défi nature – Animaux marins" and "Planète mer et océans," as well as a comic book "Animaux marins" were given.

These gifts will only enhance their awareness of environmental protection.
