Marine Educative Area "Generation 4": Monitoring the Solarium construction site

Marine Educative Area

Today, the 7ème A students of Fontvieille School were able to observe the progress of the redevelopment works currently taking place on the solarium.

Explanations provided by Mr. Stéphane Melan, Chief of Road and Signaling Section at the Direction de l’Aménagement Urbain, and Ms. Claire Michaud, Quality, Safety, and Environment Manager at SIVIA'M, helped the children better understand the ongoing construction and how a construction site operates.

The Direction de l’Aménagement Urbain intentionally set up an area for the children to view the construction from the Stefano Casiraghi esplanade. This arrangement ensured the safety of the students while allowing them to see the entire construction site. They observed workers in action, sparking questions about their working conditions and the functioning of construction machinery.

The children were particularly attentive to waste sorting. In March, the students will work on data provided by the Direction de l’Aménagement Urbain to enhance their mathematical skills while incorporating values from their Marine Educational Area. They will revisit the site at the end of the construction to see the redevelopment in its entirety.

A big THANK YOU to the Direction de l’Aménagement Urbain for their availability and interest in the children's work!
