Marine Educative Area "Generation 5" : MEA discovery

Marine Educative Area

Today, the students of the 7ème A class of Ecole Saint Charles discovered the site of the Marine Educative Area which they will manage throughout the school year.

This day allowed them to understand the different ecosystems of the MEA but also to question, very intelligently, the balance to be achieved when we wish to reconcile human activities and environmental protection.

To support them in this process, in addition to the AMPN team, members of the permanent secretariats of ACCOBAMS and the Pelagos Agreement were present, as well as Messrs. David Gamba and Stéphane Jamme, both also involved in the project of the year: raising awareness about the preservation of cetaceans.

While being an excuse for learning in joy and good humor, the picnic organized on the solarium was also an opportunity to emphasize selective sorting, with suitable bins being placed in numerous points in the Principality.

The day ended with the presentation of the bench inaugurated in November 2021 in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ACCOBAMS. This bench, designed with used plastic, constitutes an additional means of raising awareness of the threats weighing on cetaceans and their habitats.

An unforgettable moment for children, but also for adults!!!
