Marine Educative Area "Generation 6" : MEA visit

Marine Educative Area

Today took place the presentation to the students of the 7ème A of Ecole Saint-Charles of the Marine Educative Area which they are in charge of this year.

The day began with a visit to the site in its entirety aimed at introducing students to marine and terrestrial biodiversity but also to all the human activities taking place inside or around the MEA. The various observations subsequently led the children to identify key words and draw up a diagram of the MEA summarizing the essential points.

After a pleasant picnic at Fort Antoine, workshops to discover species, delicately collected at sea for the occasion and maintained in aquariums, were offered to students in the AMPN premises. Starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumber, hermit crab, limpets, algae, detached fragment of posidonia, etc. allowed students to become familiar with marine life and to discover their classification, their habitats, their diet, their ecological role as well as some of their particularities.

This ephemeral laboratory was of great benefit to the happiness of the children! The species were subsequently carefully returned to their natural environment.
