Commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the AMPN, diving tribute to the Founding President

Marine Protected Areas

The A.M.P.N. celebrated its 40th anniversary on October 20, 2015 by paying tribute to its founding President Eugène Debernardi.

In the morning, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, under the direction of Pierre Frolla, dived in the marine protected area of Larvotto to celebrate this event in the company of many members of the AMPN and representatives of the "world of the sea ".

A very emotional moment when a bouquet of flowers was placed by Jacqueline Gautier-Debernardi, the current President of the AMPN, on the commemorative reef in homage to her father.

The ceremony continued in the evening at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and an audience of personalities.

On this occasion, the anniversary film was screened: « Monaco, a challenge, reserves in an urban environment ».

This film, produced by the association Images Nature Production, retraces the history of the Principality's marine protected areas, their management methods and the various actions carried out for so many years.

It is the culmination of long months of work made necessary by the age and complexity of Monaco's reserves.
