Prospecting and counting the flowering density of Posidonia oceanica between -6 and -15 m depth in the eastern part of the Larvotto reserve using a positioning quadrat.
The measurements were carried out by Doctor Heike Molenaar, member of the Board of Directors of the AMPN and Posidonia specialist .
The flowering of Posidonia meadows is rare, it was reported this year in many Mediterranean regions (Alpes-Maritimes, Var, Corsica, Italy, Bouches-du-Rhône).
The last massive flowering of this scale dates from 2003, fragmented flowerings were reported in 2006 and 2009.
